EDGE Energy is a licensed, insured, and bonded contractor in (DC, VA, and MD) incorporating green building standards (NAHB, BPI, RESNET) and Solar / Wind / Geo-Thermal system best practices (NABCEP) during installations for home and business owners. We design and install custom solutions for energy efficiency and renewable energy systems with pride and with proven track records. Our special focus is completing projects which decrease utility bills and energy consumption by 25% to well over 100% – even creating homes that are net positive!

The company has a strong background in energy efficiency and has been performing energy audits, air-sealing, and insulation services since 2006. The company employs specially-trained weatherization retrofit installers (currently 4-teams approx. 20 technicians) and works with Federal and State government weatherization programs and projects for low-income homeowners (WAP, DHCD).

EDGE Energy keeps the homeowner’s best interests in mind when advising them on cost-effective retrofits or packaged energy solutions. We target work that has a proven and calculable pay-back period in addition to fixing building code violations, health and safety concerns, combustion issues that can affect gas appliances.

In 2009, homeowner’s completing Phase 1 weatherization work scopes saved enough on utilities to repay the cost of improvements on an average of 6.8 years as estimated through energy modeling software. In 2010, this average decreased to 6.2 years, and in 2011, the Company completed (4) zero-energy retrofit projects where on-site solar power generation systems produce more energy than the home’s consume after weatherization.

As a partner with the MD Utilities, EPA ENERGY STAR Programs, DOE Pilot for Home Performance, DC State Energy Utility, and others, EDGE Energy can submit completed jobs for financial rebates, incentives, NAHB certificates, and ENERGY STAR labels. As part of our customer service process, we assist homeowners with tax, grant, utility, and rebate paperwork…making “going green” easy.
