Infrared Images
Infrared (IR) cameras play a very important role in our building energy inspections. While the blower door is being operated, our energy auditors utilize the IR camera to detect areas of heat loss in the building shell that cannot be detected by the human eye. Below is a list of different things that the IR camera can and cannot do:
IR Cameras CAN:
- Detect the presence of of inadequate or deteriorated insulation
- Detection of air infiltration
- Investigate water leakage
IR Cameras CANNOT:
- Provide X-ray Vision
- Provide Night-Vision
- Detect mold
