LEED for Homes
LEED for Homes
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System administered by the U.S. Green Building Council is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings. LEED for Homes is the consensus-developed, third party-verified rating system for green homes. At EDGE Energy, we have the experience and expertise to help you design and build homes that meet LEED certification standards. We have LEED-qualified experts on staff who will help you set project goals and guide you through the entire LEED for Homes process.
Eight Categories of Performance Measures for LEED for Homes
LEED for Homes measures the performance of a home based on the following categories:
- Site selection
- Water efficiency
- Materials and resources
- Energy and atmosphere
- Indoor environmental quality
- Location and linkages
- Awareness and education
- Innovation
Within each of these areas, projects earn points toward certification. The result: your building or home will earn LEED certification in one of four levels, including Certified, Silver, Gold, or Platinum.
