Energy-Efficiency & Profitability

Schools | Churches | Mixed Use | Community Centers | Government

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES of a Commercial Audit:

  • Target and model different retrofit scenarios to achieve reductions in energy consumption of 15 - 65% for the community center and adjacent grounds.
  • Improve interior comfort, reduce air leakage, develop a for plan mechanical system(s) efficiency
  • Prepare a Work Scope to implement suggestions from the audit with simple ROI calculation for various sections.
  • Present Energy Audit results to Board / Committee in final meeting and executive summary of findings.
  • Include group presentation to interested board members and community homeowners about responsible “green” and energy efficient living in the home.
    • Promote green living and behavioral energy-saving measures among community members. May include projector presentation for a fruitful Q&A session.
  • Energy Audit will be compiled using Computer Modeling, Thermal (IR) Camera Scans, Blower Door and Duct Leakage Testers, and visual inspections of system functionality, outer building shell, window performance, insulation levels, and other building components.
Includes Professional Geothermal and Solar Energy site surveys (implementation, cost, and ROI, and preliminary feasibility studies)

ENERGY AUDIT: Computer Modeling
We are located in Climate zone 4 (sub-tropical, mixed climate). The audit will be compiled from a combination of manual calculation, onsite data collection, and a computer modeling of the building shell with eQuest Commercial Energy Audit software.

  • 3-D Computer modeling of the entire building shell including utility data.
  • Disaggregation of Utility Data and Consumption with/without pool loads.
  • Perform seasonal and yearly load calculations
  • Return-On-Investment (ROI) and Energy-Savings calculations for various improvements.
Quantify energy savings of suggested upgrades in dollar amount, and tonnage of CO2/year saved.

Energy Efficiency positively impacts both
Asset Value
and the Environment

  • Utility expenses are 10%-20% of a building’s expense and rates are constantly increasing.
  • Energy efficient buildings command 6% effective rent premiums and 16% higher sales prices.
  • Buildings account for nearly 40% of the CO2 emissions in the US and consume 70% of the electricity load in the US.

EDGE Energy works with building owners and users to increase asset values, lower ownership costs, and promote environmental stewardship by recommending and implementing fiscally responsible and sustainable energy efficiency measures that reduce energy usage and carbon emissions.

Our team of experienced Professional Engineers, Certified Energy Managers, LEED APs, building science specialists and project managers can help our customers achieve their energy efficiency goals by offering the following services: Benchmarking Reports, Energy Audits, Detailed Engineering, Project Capitalization and Implementation support.

We help our customers make informed and intelligent decisions about implementing energy efficiency measures that meet their capital investment return criteria and their energy conservation and greenhouse gas emission reduction goals.
